South Sudan

This initiative, supported by the Australian Embassy’s Direct Aid Program, is dedicated to improving educational access for 200 orphaned and vulnerable children in South Sudan. At present, the orphanage lacks proper facilities, learning materials, and technology, limiting opportunities for growth and learning. To address these challenges, the project will renovate four classrooms and a study hall, establish a computer and skills lab, build a library with more than 500 books, provide educational resources, and deliver training for caregivers and teachers.

The key objectives of this project are to create a safe, supportive learning environment, equip children with quality educational and digital resources, and strengthen the capacity of 15 caregivers and teachers through training in education, digital literacy, and child protection.

Through these efforts, the project aims to deliver lasting outcomes: operational classrooms and a multipurpose hall, a solar-powered computer lab with 20 computers, and a fully stocked library. As a result, 200 children—half of them girls—will gain access to quality education, while caregivers will be better equipped with modern teaching and psychosocial skills. Ultimately, the children will not only benefit from a stronger academic foundation but also acquire digital and vocational competencies that will help shape their futures.
